The Village of Justice, incorporated
October 17, 1911, is a suburban community located in southwest Cook County,
Illinois. Justice started out as a bedroom community with little or no
business establishments. However, we are a growing community. The current
residential population is approximately 12,453 with a growth rate of 3%.
Within the past 5 years, we have added over 500 new townhomes to the
Village’s stock and construction continues, although at a much slower pace.
In the year 2000 (the last census), the median value of a home was $143,500.
The Median Household Income is $50,254. Senior citizens
age 65 and older comprise approximately 6.4% (795) of the total population
and live in 440 household units. 2663 children under the age of 14 reside in
the Village.
The Village of Justice is home to 172 small
businesses that include; grocery, food service restaurants, barber and hair
stylists, dry cleaners, florists, gas stations with mini marts, churches,
cemeteries, a funeral home, monument companies, healthcare facilities, a
convalescent home, educational facilities, laundromats, tattoo parlors,
vehicle repair establishments, towing companies, computer repair service,
tavern grilles and general service business establishments.
