Buckle Buddy
Child Seat Program
Email:

The
Justice Police Department is pleased to
announce that they have teamed up with the
Children’s Hospital of Illinois and their
program “Be A
Buckle Buddy”. This program
features a website and a statewide toll-free
hotline that allow concerned individuals to
anonymously report unrestrained or
improperly restrained child passengers in
motor vehicles.
Here's how the program works:
1) A concerned individual observes an
unrestrained or improperly restrained child
in a vehicle. The individual calls the
hotline or visits
www.bucklebuddy.org and provides license
plate number, vehicle description, date,
city, and county.
2) A Children’s Hospital of Illinois
representative checks the hotline and
website, records only pertinent information,
and then faxes reports to local law
enforcement partners.
3) The law enforcement partner
retrieves the vehicle owners information and
sends the registered vehicle owner child
passenger safety information and a copy of
the current Illinois State Child Passenger
Safety Laws, in efforts to educate them and
take the proper steps to ensure their
child's safety when traveling in any motor
vehicle.
The Justice Police Department along with
Roberts Park Fire Protection District will
be hosting a Buckle Buddy free child safety seat
inspection in September(
date to be announced)located at: The Roberts Park
Fire Protection District Station #2 at The
Justice Village Hall. Additional Free
Inspections dates will follow and will be
posted when scheduled. Please check back for
those schedule times.
The Justice Police Department would like to
stress how important proper child seating is
to your child's safety while driving with
you. This is one of the reasons that they
are involved with this outstanding program
and urge all residents to take part and get
educated. It's all about your child's
safety!
Take part for your children's sake and for
your own peace of mind.
Buckle Up! It's the Law!
