The Justice Police Department’s Mission is to prevent crime,
enforce the law, and help people.

Stopped School Bus.......It's The Law!

  • Vehicles must stop when the bus displays flashing lights and extends the stop signal arm.
    Vehicles may not pass until the flashing red lights and signal are turned off.

  •  Never pass on the right side of a bus, where children enter or exit.

  • Vehicles traveling in the same direction are always required to stop

  • Vehicles traveling from the opposite direction are required to stop, except on a divided highway.

With the area schools back in session children are walking to their school bus stops in the mornings and walking home after being dropped off in the afternoons. Please be alert and look out for them as you drive through the neighborhoods. After school they are outside playing everywhere. Please watch for them as you are driving through the neighborhoods.
SLOW DOWN

The speed limits on residential streets is 20mph.

Don't be in such a hurry that you put the life of a child in danger. 

Teach your children to be aware of traffic when they are playing. 

  The most important thing you can do is  SLOW DOWN!

 


 

CHILD SAFETY SEAT INSPECTION PROGRAM

 Statistics show that on average, 90 to 95 percent of all child safety seats are installed incorrectly, leaving children virtually unprotected. In an effort to respond to this alarming fact, the Justice Police Department offers free child safety seat inspections and/or installations at the Justice Police station located at 7800 S. Archer Road.

Officer Tony DeBella
, a certified child safety seat technician.

 Residents and non-residents are  welcome. This is an ongoing program which the police department offers. For more information, on child safety, please visit the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Association) at www.nhtsa.dot.gov or call the Department of Transportation / Auto Safety Hotline toll-free at 1-888-327-4236.
