Village President/Mayor, Krzysztof (Kris) Wasowicz
Krzysztof (Kris) Wasowicz was elected Mayor of the Village of Justice to an unexpired term on April 17, 2007. He was re-elected in 2009 and once again in 2013. A resident of Justice for more than 20 years, he and his wife Helen raised their two sons here. Kris received his Master's degree from the University of Krakow with a concentration in Biology. His experiences as a homeowner, small business owner and an investor add to his qualifications to serve.
During Kris's tenure as Mayor, and despite difficult economic times including large losses in municipal revenue, a surplus position was achieved in Budget year 2012. In 2013 the budget is flourishing. "Now that our house is finally in order, we are beginning to tackle critical infrastructure improvements throughout the village". Fiscally responsible decision-making is truly Kris's forte.
Kris works diligently to promote the Village and maintains an "open door" policy for all residents and employees alike. He strives to maintain an inclusive and transparent government that actively seeks the input of Village residents and businesses. He is excited and poised to move forward with aggressive economic development initiatives in our Village.
Kris's personal commitment to the Village is strong; Kris donates the entire monthly stipend he receives as a Commissioner of the Justice-Willow Springs Water Commission to the Village of Justice Scholarship Fund.
